Unlike many other diseases that are awaiting a cure, malaria was eliminated in the U.S. in the 1950s. However, in Sub-Saharan Africa, malaria continues to kill a person every 60 seconds. Millions of lives, needlessly lost each year. Entire nations, a continent…slipping away. Slipping through life’s precious net. But there is hope!
Imagine No Malaria is an extraordinary effort of the people of The United Methodist Church, putting our faith into action to empower the people of Africa to overcome malaria’s burden and end preventable deaths by malaria all together.
We have already reduce malaria deaths by almost 50% by simply distributing more than 2.3 millin bed nets. We have maintained more than 300 hospitals, clinics, and health outposts and trined nearly 12,000 health care workers in Africa. But there is still much more to be done.
As a church, Wyoming United Methodist urges you to help this mission TODAY!
